What are PFAS?
PFAS or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are harmful human-made chemicals that emerged in the mid-20th century as a revolutionary chemical innovation due to their water and oil resistance. As these synthetic chemicals find their way into our water bodies, soil, and even the food chain, they present significant health and environmental concerns, prompting global efforts for remediation and regulation. Amidst these challenges, there is hope and inspiration arising from the efforts of researchers worldwide.
